In 2016, we received an assignment to implement Performance Management System in one of the leading Glass technology companies in Bangalore. It was a family-owned company and some of the key roles were held by important relatives of the MD & ED. Our assignment was to explain the basic philosophy of Performance, its relevance or linkage with the organisational goals and vision.
We met individually and collectively Heads of Departments to understand their business processes, activities, challenges, future growth potential, kinds of manpower they are handling and received plenty of inputs.
With this data available, we went about the task of formulating basic policy and requested each HOD to come up with their Key Result Areas for their domain operation. We had several rounds of meeting and finally, we visited their factory also and held a mega launch of the project. There were some minor issues that arose subsequently and we removed the wrinkles by ironing out the problems amicably. It was a grand success helping them lay a road map to scale up their organisational goal from the current level of Rs.100 cr. to Rs.300 crore in the next three years.
